Yes -you're seeing that right! He is trying to eat my finger--again! you say-but he's small-yeah-with really big teeth!

No matter what I do with this one -it always manages to get a hold of me!

and I still had the camera in the other hand-so I took a few photos.

What will eat? mice and fish..wait..ratsnakes aren't supposed to eat fish..but then again..it shouldn't be trying to eat me and every single thing that gets near it--including clothing, pens, paper, hide boxes, bowls........

Looks like you might have had a bit of trouble getting him off there. Your ratsnake sounds a bit mental :P
My two snakes once decided to try and eat eachother (I made the mistake of putting one mouse in a tank with 2 snakes). Luckily I was on hand to unlock them :P Ever since then I've fed them in seperate tanks.

Our rat snakes are over 6 feet, I hope yours stops eating fingers before it gets that big!

I have this guy's Father (His Mom died of old age last summer) anyway the father is well over 6 feet and he got me only once but it didn't hurt as much-he knows when to stop-he realizes that it's not his dinner.

I sure hope this little guy learns soon! It's not like we don't fed him!! It seems like he's in perpetual feed mode-LOL!

I keep calling it "him" but I'll bet it's a female.

I had to take him to the sink and run cold water on him-and even though he uncioled-I still had to carefully pry his teeth out of finger-sheesh! I hate having them do that because I'm so afraid I'll hurt them.

Oh -I know that part about having 2 in one tank-I had some other baby ratsnakes in one tank-each got it's own mouse-but then they got greedy-seperate cages came immediately!

Cold water and gentle prying! He does this everytime you open the cage!

Most people say-"oh that can't hurt-he's so small"-well-it does hurt cos he has long teeth and digs them in to the bone on fingers-then pulls-yeah that hurts!! Plus he constricts too-that doesn't hurt-but it makes him hard to dislodge!

He is the only one who strikes everything and anything to make a meal of it. Hense he doesn't get out much-I hope he grows out of it! O_O

His parents were food aggressive too-but they stopped biting as soon as you picked them up. And his sibbling is a nice calm little guy and never acts like this.

One of my snakes actually just bit my finger as I fed him a moment ago. It was quite a fair distance too, of course he was looking in the completle opposite direction to the mouse I was dangling at the time in order to try and attract his attention. I've only ever been bitten by my snakes (corn snakes) 3 times in the 3 or so years I've had them (one is extreamly placid, the other is the result of all 3, but thats still not bad).
:iconseto2112:
What kind of snake? just curious.

They can sure surprise you at times-just when you think they aren't paying attention Hint--buy a big forceps-they help alot during feeding ^__^ especially with aggressive feeders that oridinarily won't bite. We found the need when we got the big Green Ratsnakes-food aggressive and they have speed and a long reach!

But you have a good record unlike me-the bite magnet!
